GBCSA Green Building Convention 2017

 In Company news

The Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) hosts many building tours, member events, courses and networking events yearly.  The events provide sponsors with opportunities to showcase their own green leadership to audiences of like-minded professionals and key decision makers

This year the GBCSA Green Building convention was held at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town from 9 – October 2017, as a marking of the momentous occasion of their 10th anniversary.

This conference also hosted the Student Mini-Convention on 11 October 2017 which was designed specifically for full time students currently enrolled in built environments or sustainability related studies at recognized tertiary institutions in SA or beyond with interests in design, construction and operation of a more sustainable world from buildings to neighbourhoods and cities.

What makes the GBCSA 2017 remarkable is the fact that this was their first convention held in a green facility.  The entire convention centre has initiated a new mixed-use Green Building Council of South Africa Rating to ensure that sustainable green design principles are implemented.

Not only can this conference centre host up to 1900 delegates across 20 different venues, it has world-class connectivity, electric creativity and unparalleled choice to make any event truly unforgettable.

These bold features are why the GPCSA Green Building Conference was the logical choice for this year’s event, and specifically for ENEL Green Power, our latest successful exhibition stand.

Most importantly, the theme of GBCA 2017 was “DARE TO LEAD” as the purpose of the GBCSA is to build a greener future in which the people and the planet can thrive.  Buildings are one of the main contributors to climate change and building green is an opportunity to use resources efficiently and address climate change while creating healthier and more productive environments for people and communities.

Extruct Exhibition was tremendously proud to build the exhibition stand for one of this year’s exhibitors, ENEL Green Power (EGP)

ENEL Green Power is one of the leaders in the renewable energy sector and operates in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa. Thanks to innovative energy technologies they produce solar, wind, hydro and geothermal energy. Entering new markets, they build new plants and supply energy through innovative technologies.  Their mission is to build a sustainable and environment friendly future.

At GBCSA 2017 shell schemes for exhibition stands are discouraged because the event organizers wish to promote innovation and creativity and once again Extruct Exhibition was able to deliver a unique and remarkable booth for EGP.

Taking limited floor space into account, Extruct Exhibition was able to utilize our design and construction skills to build a booth that was both visually stimulating and vibrant.  The booth was designed to be accessible and visible from any direction.  Once again we constructed a booth that was innovative and user friendly while considering practical needs such at lighting and electrical outlets.  In keeping with the essence of green energy and construction, the furnishing and finishes for the exhibition stand were chosen with the utmost of care to ensure that ENEL Green Energy had a successful exhibition experience.

Our EGP booth for the GBCSA 2017 stands as a testament to our professional design and construction expertise, ensuring that we can meet all our clients’ requirements.
