Hostex 2017 – Gallagher Convention Centre
This year the food and hospitality industry, Food and Hospitality Africa, hosted the largest Pan-African food, drink and hospitality exhibition yet. This premier event, Hostex 2017, took place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg from 7 to 9 May.
This annual exhibition was extraordinary as a result of the merging of The Hostex and the IFEA shows, bringing the added partnership of SACA (South African Chefs Association), SCASA (Speciality Coffee Association of South Africa), National Accommodation Association of SA, FEDHASA (Federal Hospitality Association of SA), Restaurant Association of SA, BABASA (Bed and Breakfast Association of SA), GHASA (Guest House Association of SA) and the Sustainable Tourism Partnership Programme.
Hostex 2017 featured more than 300 exhibitors from 28 countries, including 11 official pavilions, free-to-attend seminars, demonstrations and competitions.
Notably, this year’s Hostex featured and introduced the offerings of The Drinks Cabinet (displaying amongst other things, locally crafted beers and ciders, wines and spirits, innovative new alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and health drinks), Contract Furnishings (which showcases furnishings in all aspects of the hospitality industry, including bars, guesthouses, restaurants, retails stores, etc – covering everything from linen to towelling and even indoor and outdoor furnishing) and Tea and Coffee Africa (to lure you with the aromatic aromas of the wide variety of producers and distributors of hot beverage products).
One of the official pavilions at the Hostex 2017 was the Korean Food Pavilion, which was proudly constructed by Extruct Exhibition. This pavilion was a brilliant showcase of Korean food and drinks and was constructed according to the client’s own designs.
To create this pavilion, which was designed to cater for a myriad of Korean food exhibitioners, Extruct Exhibition had to construct a stand that was eye-catching yet also functional and practical. Following the specifications of the design created by the client, rather than a one-size-fits-all shell construct, was of utmost importance to Extruct Exhibition to ensure that this exhibitor was memorable amongst the 300 exhibitors.
At his Hostex event, for the Korean pavilion, Extruct Exhibition had to pay special attention not only to the client’s designed logos, but importantly also to the placing of lighting and shelving needs, as well as the placing of necessary furniture. To ensure that the stand made optimal use of the space available, careful consideration had to be given to the placement of all the electrical fittings, thus also paying attention to the safety of both exhibitors and attendees.
Furthermore, it is especially relevant to note that Extruct Exhibition is fully capable of creating customized exhibition stands or stands that are designed by the client anywhere in South Africa. Transport, design and/or construction of your stand equipment, whether to an exhibition venue in Cape Town or Johannesburg, or anywhere in between, is part of the service that we can professionally provide to any exhibitor or exhibition host.
Lastly, whether a client is new to exhibitions, or a regular exhibitor, Extruct Exhibition can guide you through the process, ensuring that everything from designing your logo, to recreating an existing one, is hassle free.
